Message from Principal Janet Gilbert and Dean Melissa Larson:

Happy New Year and welcome back to school! We are excited to begin the second semester in the school year.  We have many important items ahead of us and are eager to work in partnership with you to help our students succeed. This month, we start with celebrations during our 1st-6th grade award assemblies and Leader in Me Leadership Day. I hope you can come celebrate with us! Next month, we will share our students’ successes during conferences. This is an opportunity for our students to share their accomplishments and talk about their future goals to help them prepare for upcoming testing. The rest of the school year is filled with very targeted learning to complete the grade level goals, and of course, we have some fun events planned.

Just as a reminder, please make sure that your child is arriving to school on time and well rested.  The morning bell rings at 8:40 AM and students begin their learning right away. Tardies and absences are tracked through the Department of Education. We also want to make sure that students are safe at all times. School-aged students may not be dropped off or picked up in the north “lollipop” parking lot.  This drop-off/pick-up area is designated for Preschool Only.  Students may exit on that side and walk to the street for pick-up, or please use the drive-through.  You may park only in the big parking lot before or after school.  Please DO NOT use the Staff Parking Lot by the bus bay.

We are excited to continue the work we are doing and look forward to a prosperous new year.  Happy 2020!

Mrs. Gilbert & Mrs. Larson
