Dear parents of 8th grade students,
Sandra Day O'Connor High School's administration and counselors would like to invite you to an event to support our incoming 8th grade parents to share information specific to high school curriculum that will directly assist in planning to meet your child's goals and aspirations after high school.  We will discuss more in detail the graduation requirements as well as how to prepare for college and career after high school.  Each student's journey is very different and the path they choose in high school will play an important role in what they choose to do post high school.  We will have many stakeholders present during this event that will include the following:  West-Mec, Community College, Universities, School Counselors, and School Administrators.  We will begin the evening with a general information session followed by a Q and A session with our panel of experts.  After that we will have breakout tables for you to move around to ask more specific questions that are more personal to your individual student and situation.
The event is scheduled for January 14, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  We will start in the Sandra Day O'Connor HS auditorium.  We welcome parents and students alike for this event!!
We look forward to providing a new opportunity to begin our journey together.  Remember that we are leaving the course selection process open until January 18 at 3:00 pm.  This will allow you to look at your child's class choices for their freshman year and make adjustments in those selections for the few days following this information packed evening.
