Update Letter from March 25

Good morning Terramar Titan Community,

I hope that you and your family are staying healthy. I wanted to touch base and let you know that we miss our students very much.

Our teachers are navigating new waters and I'm pretty sure that our primary teachers never expected to learn how to teach via e-learning for 5-8 year olds. While our older students are more accustomed to navigating learning online, it will be a challenging and learning experience for all teachers. There will be mistakes, problems and many questions along the way. We understand that some of you are still working, and that there are financial and health concerns in families. Our Titan teachers and staff are here to support our students and families through this challenging time. Please do not stress over the school work via e-learning. Frustrations in general are high, and we don't want to increase the stress in our families. Our goal is to provide e-learning for our students to keep their brains moving forward. If you need to adjust the work the teachers provide, please do so and communicate with the teachers via email. The teachers appreciate your flexibility and patience in advance, just breathe.

The district is sharing information with families through the district website which you can view at this address:

The district is asking families to fill out a survey regarding technology access at home. Please take this survey ASAP (lastest March 27th).

Tuesday March 31st will be a day for parents to pick up student "essential" belongings. I will share more information about our plan and process for this once I receive additional information.

Breakfast and lunch are being provided to any child 18 years or younger at various schools/community sites from 11-1pm daily. Visit this site to find a location near you.

Starting on March 30th the district will be posting extended and enrichment learning opportunities for families to engage in with their children. On March 30th you can view these activities at this address:

The Week of March 30th our Titan teachers will be receiving professional development on best practices with online learning. This includes, but is not limited to, navigating the online learning platform of Canvas, creating online learning activities, grading procedures and recorded lessons. Starting on April 6th our Titan Tachers will be providing the online learning to our students this includes Art, Music, and PE.

It is my goal to provide you with information that is correct the first time. Please continue to stay flexible and patient with us as we work through this challenging time where guidance from the federal and state governments change daily.

You have my promise that once I receive new processes and procedures that I will reach back out and share this information.

Please take care of yourself and the children that we miss very much.

With flexibility, patience and a smile,

Sharon Wieser
