DVUSD will be providing the opportunity for ALL district high school junior students to take the ACT college readiness test! The ACT test is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in English, math, reading, and science. Students can benefit from participating in the ACT testing in several ways: ? Data will be provided to students and parents showing strengths and weaknesses in subject areas tested allowing students/parents to work with teachers and counselors to determine areas of focus for remaining coursework ? College and career planning component is included allowing students/parents a tool for determining career interests, college majors, and occupational fields most suited for the student ? College admissions test (Students can choose up to four colleges to send scores for free) The ACT will be administered to juniors on Wednesday, February 20th. There is no makeup day. Since the ACT is a timed test, tardy students will not be able to test. Junior students who ride both regular and special service buses will be picked up at the regular time. Freshmen, sophomores, and senior students who ride special service buses will be picked up 3 hours and 15 minutes later than their normal time. Students who are in grades 9, 10 and 12 who ride regular buses will be picked up 4 hours and 15 minutes later than their normal pick up time.
